Meet Dr Janna Huboi
Hello all,
Thanks for checking out this info. What changes would you like to make in
your life? Have you ever wondered what else is possible with respect to your
body, life and health? Let's have fun and I bet you will be amazed at the
generative potency of your body. Bodies are way more conscious that most
people think. Would you like to expand your possibilities and experience more
joyful embodiment? If so, I would be delighted to serve you and your body.
Here is a bio about me.
I grew up in the Bay Area. I attended UC Berkeley, majoring in Philosophy,
and personally focused on BioMedical Ethics. My work was published in the
UC Berkeley undergraduate journal of philosophy on the Ethics of Pain
Management. My classmates would joke and say that I'm "really into pain".
That was partly true, because I'd seen so many people live in chronic pain
and sadly, die in pain and I was determined to make a difference.
I've worked in various capacities for the Medical Establishment since I was 18
years old in 2 ICU's, nursing home, trauma, home hospice, psych and
pediatrics, to name a few. This opened my eyes to the reality of 'Health Care'
in America which has so little to do with true health and more to do with crisis
and chronic illness, treated with drugs and surgery. Touched by the scores of
suffering people, I felt the most compassionate profession would be to
become a hospice nurse to help people die with comfort and dignity.
Under grace, that plan changed when I met a chiropractor, Dr. Laura
Sheehan, at Children's Hospital Oakland who said, "You are a healer. Don't
you want to help people before they die?" That was a moment of realization
and enlightenment and the more I heard about chiropractic, the more I
realized that that was my calling. I was so certain that I immediately applied to
chiropractic school and became a patient of Dr. Sheehan, who turned my
Power on!
Now, I'm singularly focused on helping people get well and stay healthy. I
graduated Life Chiropractic College West valedictorian of my class (if that
matters, it really doesn't because I'm a really good chiropractor...) and was
involved in many organizations and worked as editor of the school newspaper.
I was elected to Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and
Colleges in recognition of outstanding merit and accomplishment in 2007. As
a senior student, I was invited to present my most complex clinical case at
Seminar before the student body. I enjoy teaching, public speaking and
serving the public.
I specialize in rocking your world and helping your body find more ease. In my
office, this means gentle, precise structural adjusting combining physical
rehabilitation and soft tissue work. I adjust the spine as well as extremities
(hands, feet, hips, knees, shoulders, any joint!). I will straighten you out and
get you back on the road to feeling fantastic! My wide range of skills and
techniques enable me to work with persons of all ages, including newborns
and fragile elderly as well as the medically complex. I love children and worked
for 7 years at Children's Hospital Oakland in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.
Prior to that, I worked with adults in an ICU and elderly persons in the home as
well as in a skilled nursing facility. In all of my work, I am known for being
careful, thorough and well-intentioned.
In my free time, I am training for the Oakland marathon in March. That said,
there's a good chance you may see me hoofing it on the streets of Alameda
or at the gym. I also enjoy baking, playing board games, inspirational books,
German philosophy (not inspirational in the traditional sense), and am
currently learning the German language.

These are both fantastic books!

The amazing Dr. Laura Sheehan, my
first chiropractor. Her insight and
skill inspired me to become a
chiropractor.
Some of the kind folks we served in El
Salvador. There are only 2 chiropractors in
the whole country. They arrived hours early,
returned everyday and brought more and
more people. This is a small crowd, as it was
the first day Luis and I were there.
A grateful lady. She came everyday. Initially
she came with a cane, in pain, with ACE
bandages on her knees. By the end of
week, her pain was markedly decreased and
she could walk without the cane and didn't
require supportive knee bandages.
